The concept for the network arose out of our desire to save lives. The medical community is at a crossroads. Even though physicians have the ability to prevent them, heart attacks still kill more men and women in the U.S. than anything else. Cardiac arrest occurs at the staggering rate of one every 20 seconds. Every third attack is fatal. And those figures are trending upward as aging baby boomers become increasingly overweight and diabetic. Lives—millions of them—are at stake.

Our solution? Prevention, early detection and education.

Our commitment to prevention, early detection and education began with the development of HeartAware. As a HeartAware provider, you can become part of a network that conveys to their community that they are dedicated to providing the highest level of cardiovascular care.

As a leader in vascular consulting services for more than three decades, we have spent hundreds of hours talking with physicians, administrators and hospital staff. Despite everything the medical community knows about heart disease, we still have no way of monitoring and controlling risk in people who don’t know they have the disease. Prevention, early detection and education is key.
